"Hyundai Privilege Assists in Successful Rescue Off Northern Sydney Coast"
On September 20, 2024, while navigating approximately 20 nautical miles off Long Reef headland, located on the northern beaches of Sydney, New South Wales, the crew of the M/V "Hyundai Privilege" responded to a call for help from a small sailing vessel in distress. Battling severe winds and having lost his engine, the sole seafarer found himself in need of assistance.
Our crew was able to retrieve the yacht master safely from the ocean after he approached the ship on his kayak. In collaboration with Sydney and Broken Bay Water Police, the rescue was carried out smoothly, ensuring the sailor’s safe return to land.
We extend our thanks to the Marine Area Command of the NSW Police Force for their prompt response and collaboration during the operation.
